Los Angeles Clippers coach Tyronn Lue said the team expects to lean into a faster-paced style with new point guard Darius Garland now in the fold.
Garland was acquired in a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers that sent veteran guard James Harden to Cleveland, reshaping the Clippers’ backcourt ahead of the upcoming season.
Lue: Pace will be a priority
Lue indicated the Clippers’ approach will emphasize speed and tempo with Garland running the offense. The move signals a shift in how Los Angeles plans to initiate and organize its attack, with Garland set to take on the lead ball-handling role.
