The Cleveland Cavaliers were without Donovan Mitchell on Thursday night, with the team’s star guard sitting out a 115-110 win over the Chicago Bulls because of a bruised left eye.
Mitchell’s absence removed a key piece from Cleveland’s backcourt, but the Cavaliers managed to close out the five-point victory in his place.
The win allowed Cleveland to take care of business at home despite being shorthanded, while Chicago came up just short in a tight finish.
Mitchell held out
Mitchell did not appear in the game as the Cavaliers prioritized caution with the eye injury. Cleveland proceeded without him and still found enough offense and late-game execution to secure the result.
