VJ Edgecombe delivered a standout performance while battling through pain, scoring 30 points and grabbing 10 rebounds as the Philadelphia 76ers defeated the Boston Celtics 111-97 on Tuesday night to even their series at one game apiece.
Edgecombe took a hard fall on his back early in the game but stayed in and continued to produce, anchoring Philadelphia’s offense and work on the glass. Tyrese Maxey provided a second major scoring punch with 29 points as the 76ers responded with a decisive win to level the matchup.
Series tied after Game 2
With the victory, Philadelphia tied the series 1-1, setting up a pivotal next stretch as both teams look to gain control. The 76ers’ balanced attack at the top, led by Edgecombe and Maxey, proved enough to pull away from Boston and secure the 14-point win.
The Celtics were held to 97 points as Philadelphia’s effort on both ends helped turn the series into a best-of-five moving forward.
