North Carolina coach Hubert Davis pushed back on the idea that fatigue played a role in his team’s late-game struggles following VCU’s 82-78 overtime win.
In brief exchanges with reporters after the loss, Davis said he didn’t believe the Tar Heels were tired, even as the game extended into an extra period.
Late rotation decision
When asked about his late-game personnel choices, Davis said it was “my decision” to go with a six-man rotation in the waning minutes.
The comments came after a game that ended with VCU pulling out the victory in overtime, leaving North Carolina to answer for a collapse that forced the extra session and ultimately resulted in the loss.
