An Alabama circuit judge on Monday denied Alabama men’s basketball player Charles Bediako’s motion for a preliminary injunction, a decision that brings his college eligibility to an end and closes his season with the Crimson Tide.
Bediako, a 7-foot center, had sought the injunction in an effort to continue playing for Alabama. With the motion denied, he will not be able to return to the court this season.
What the ruling means
The judge’s decision effectively finalizes Bediako’s status, ending his ability to compete at the college level and removing him from Alabama’s roster for the remainder of the year.
Alabama will move forward without the veteran big man as the program continues its season.
