Houston coach Kelvin Sampson said the Cougars’ recruiting efforts are being limited by the school’s athletic budget, despite the program’s current top-10 standing.
Speaking about the challenges of adding to his roster, Sampson said Houston can’t sign more recruits because the school’s athletic department is “very poor.”
The comments come with Houston positioned among the nation’s top teams, underscoring the contrast between on-court results and the financial resources Sampson says are available to support roster-building.
