Yaxel Lendeborg did a little of everything Friday night, turning in a standout all-around performance to lead Michigan past Alabama, 90-77, and into the Elite Eight.
Lendeborg finished with 23 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists, consistently impacting the game on both ends as Michigan controlled the matchup and pulled away for the 13-point win.
All-around impact
Michigan leaned on Lendeborg’s versatility throughout the night. He scored efficiently, cleaned up on the glass and kept the offense organized with seven assists, repeatedly creating opportunities for teammates while also taking advantage of his own scoring chances.
The victory moves Michigan one step deeper into the NCAA tournament, with the Wolverines advancing to the Elite Eight after dispatching Alabama in Friday’s regional semifinal.
