Mikel Brown Jr. delivered a historic performance Monday night, scoring an ACC freshman single-game record 45 points to power No. 24 Louisville to a 118-77 rout of NC State.
Brown did the bulk of his damage from deep, knocking down 10 3-pointers as the Cardinals piled up points in bunches and quickly separated from the Wolfpack. Louisville’s scoring output and margin reflected a game that was never in doubt as the Cardinals maintained control throughout.
Record night in a runaway win
Brown’s 45-point outburst set a new conference benchmark for a freshman in a single game, highlighting a standout individual night within a dominant team performance. Louisville’s No. 24 ranking underscored the stakes, and the Cardinals backed it up with one of their most lopsided results of the season.
NC State had no answer for Louisville’s pace and perimeter shooting, as the Cardinals continued to stretch the lead with repeated scoring runs on the way to the 41-point victory.
