Spurs coach Mitch Johnson made it clear he wasn’t pleased with the All-Star selections, pointing to the omissions of De’Aaron Fox and Stephon Castle.
Johnson emphasized that San Antonio’s performance this season hasn’t been reflected in the All-Star results. The Spurs currently hold the league’s third-best record and sit as a No. 2 seed, yet they are not one of the seven teams that landed multiple All-Stars.
In Johnson’s view, that gap between team success and individual recognition is difficult to reconcile, particularly given where the Spurs stand in the overall NBA hierarchy.

Johnson’s comments centered on the idea that elite regular-season results typically translate into multiple All-Star nods. With San Antonio winning at a rate that places it near the top of the league, he suggested the Spurs should be represented accordingly.
Fox and Castle were the specific players Johnson referenced as deserving of All-Star consideration, but neither was selected.
