Jamal Murray delivered a 53-point performance and Nikola Jokic narrowly missed a 20-20-20 game as the Denver Nuggets held off the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night.
Murray carried the scoring load with 53 points, while Jokic filled the box score with 23 points, 21 rebounds and 19 assists, finishing one assist shy of reaching 20 in all three categories.
Denver’s stars set the tone
Behind Murray’s scoring outburst and Jokic’s all-around production, the Nuggets did enough down the stretch to secure the win. Jokic’s 21 rebounds helped control the glass, and his 19 assists kept Denver’s offense flowing throughout the night.
Denver ultimately held on against Dallas, pairing an elite scoring night from Murray with a near-historic stat line from Jokic to close out the game.
