The NBA is set to reintroduce the Shooting Stars competition after an 11-year hiatus, adding a familiar event back into the lineup for All-Star Saturday night.
The contest will feature four teams, each composed of two current NBA players and one retired player. The format brings together active stars and former standouts in a team-based shooting event as part of the league’s annual All-Star weekend showcase.
All-Star Saturday Night Addition
The return of Shooting Stars expands the slate of Saturday night competitions, which traditionally highlight skills and shooting in a made-for-TV setting. This revived event will again place an emphasis on collaborative performance, pairing today’s players with retired NBA names in a structured team format.
