Matt Painter added a landmark moment to Purdue’s NCAA tournament run, collecting his 500th win at his alma mater as the Boilermakers beat Miami 79-69 to move on to the Sweet 16.
Purdue’s victory secured a return trip to the tournament’s second weekend and underscored the program’s continued success under Painter, who has built his resume in West Lafayette with a long list of wins and postseason appearances.
