The Warriors’ midseason addition of Kristaps Porzingis has been put on hold almost as soon as it began.
Golden State acquired Porzingis in a trade on Feb. 4. He made his debut with the team on Feb. 19, but he has not appeared in a game since.
The absence has been attributed to a “mysterious” illness, leaving the Warriors without their newest frontcourt piece after just one outing in a Golden State uniform.
A move on pause
Porzingis’ quick disappearance from the rotation has limited the Warriors’ ability to integrate him following the trade. With no additional appearances since Feb. 19, the team has had to continue without him as it navigates the remainder of the schedule.
For now, Porzingis’ Warriors tenure remains defined by the short window between his acquisition and his lone game action, with his status unchanged since that debut.
