Houston Rockets center Steven Adams has undergone season-ending surgery on his left ankle, ESPN reported.
Adams, a veteran interior presence, is averaging 8.6 rebounds this season. The procedure will sideline him for the remainder of the year.
What it means for Houston
Adams’ absence removes a key rebounding contributor from the Rockets’ frontcourt rotation. His 8.6 boards per game represent a significant piece of Houston’s work on the glass.
