The Southeastern Conference has fined Kentucky coach Mark Pope $25,000 for his “post-game conduct and comments” following the Wildcats’ 75-74 loss at Auburn on Saturday.
The league issued the fine in response to Pope’s remarks after the game, which ended with Auburn edging Kentucky by one point.
Kentucky’s trip to Auburn produced one of the weekend’s tightest finishes, with the Wildcats coming up just short in a 75-74 decision. In the aftermath, the SEC determined Pope’s postgame conduct and comments warranted disciplinary action and levied the $25,000 penalty.
