Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum described his return to action as a “really good step” after posting a well-rounded stat line in a 120-100 win over the Dallas Mavericks.
Playing his first game in 298 days, Tatum said he felt anxious early, but was able to relax as the night went on. He finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists in the victory.
Back on the floor
Tatum’s return provided an immediate boost for Boston, which controlled the matchup on the way to a 20-point win. While he acknowledged the nerves that came with stepping back into game action after a lengthy absence, he pointed to the performance as progress.
The Celtics’ win over Dallas came with Tatum contributing across the box score, impacting the game as a scorer, rebounder and playmaker.
