The Golden State Warriors have agreed to trade forward Jonathan Kuminga and guard Buddy Hield to the Atlanta Hawks in exchange for big man Kristaps Porzingis, according to reports.
The deal reshapes both rosters, with Golden State adding a proven frontcourt presence in Porzingis while moving out two rotation pieces in Kuminga and Hield. Kuminga has been a key young contributor for the Warriors, while Hield provides perimeter shooting and veteran experience.
Porzingis, a 7-foot-3 center/forward, gives Golden State size and scoring versatility in the frontcourt. His addition addresses a clear positional need for the Warriors as they look to bolster their interior options.
Giannis pursuit ends
The trade also unofficially closes the door on Golden State’s pursuit of Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo, as the Warriors’ latest move signals a different direction in their roster-building approach.
Atlanta, meanwhile, adds two players who can contribute immediately: Kuminga’s athleticism and upside on the wing and Hield’s floor-spacing ability in the backcourt.
