Wisconsin has named a nine-person search committee to help identify the Badgers’ next athletic director, adding notable figures from both professional football and basketball to the process.
The committee includes Indianapolis Colts general manager Chris Ballard and Michael Finley, a former two-time NBA All-Star. Their involvement brings high-level professional sports experience to a search that will help shape the future direction of Wisconsin athletics.
Finley, who starred at Wisconsin before his NBA career, is one of the most recognizable former Badgers athletes connected to the committee. Ballard adds an executive perspective from the NFL, where he has served in a leadership role with Indianapolis.
The search committee will assist the university as it works to find its next athletic director, a key position overseeing Wisconsin’s broad athletics department and its programs across major college sports.
