Fenerbahce did not ease into Game 2. It detonated it.
A 31-point first quarter set the tone, and Fenerbahce never gave Bayern enough traction to make the night uncomfortable, winning 100-76 on September 29, 2026, at Ulker Spor ve Etkinlik Salonu. The victory moved Fenerbahce to 2-0 in the series, while Bayern fell to 1-1 on the season and into a deeper playoff hole.
The market had Fenerbahce as the clear side, with a 75.8 percent implied win probability across nine bookmakers. The data was even more forceful. Fenerbahce entered with a 90.68 CPI, ranked second, compared with Bayern’s 61.06 CPI and 10th-place ranking. By the end, the 29.6-point CPI differential looked less like a projection and more like a preview.
Fenerbahce’s offense hit every pressure point
Fenerbahce scored 100 points on 38-of-67 shooting and punished Bayern from the arc, making 15 of 30 3-pointers. That efficiency matched the profile it brought into the game: 89 points per game, a 62.3 true shooting percentage, a 57.7 effective field goal percentage and a 106.7 offensive rating through two games analyzed.
The shot profile mattered, but the ball movement made it sustainable. Fenerbahce finished with 25 assists against 11 turnovers, a continuation of a team identity built around a 69.4 assist rate and 21.5 assists per game entering the matchup. Bayern, by contrast, managed 15 assists and 15 turnovers, a damaging ratio against a team that already had a major efficiency edge.
Fenerbahce’s spacing stretched Bayern early. The home side’s 31-15 first quarter created immediate separation, and while Bayern stabilized enough to avoid a total collapse before halftime, it never solved the core problem: Fenerbahce was generating clean offense without paying a turnover tax.
Bayern’s shooting gap decided the ceiling
Bayern entered with warning signs on both ends. Its defensive rating sat at 107.9, its net rating at minus-8.1, and its turnover rate at 16.6. Those issues traveled poorly. Fenerbahce scored 50 points by halftime and added 25 in both the third and fourth quarters.
The other end was not sharp enough to offset it. Bayern shot 28-of-57 overall but just 7-of-27 from 3-point range. That was a major swing in a matchup between two teams with high 3-point rates entering the night: Bayern at 42.5 and Fenerbahce at 41.5. Fenerbahce converted half of its 30 attempts from deep. Bayern made only seven.
That contrast defined the game. Bayern’s offense did produce 25 fourth-quarter points, its best period of the night, but by then the structure of the game had already been set. Fenerbahce had won the first quarter by 16, led 50-31 at halftime and pushed the margin again in the third.
No injury excuse, no fatigue excuse
Neither team entered with significant injuries reported. The rest profile was also clean enough that fatigue cannot carry the explanation. Fenerbahce had four days of rest and one game in the previous seven days. Bayern had five days of rest and one game in the previous seven days.
That made the result more about execution than circumstance. Fenerbahce looked like the team with the sharper collective rhythm, the stronger two-way baseline and the deeper control of the game’s pace. Its pre-game defensive rating of 88.0 was reflected in Bayern’s slow start: 15 points in the first quarter and 31 by halftime.
Series control shifts firmly to Fenerbahce
This was Game 2 of a best-of-seven series, not an elimination game. But Fenerbahce’s 2-0 series lead now carries weight because of how it was built. The home side did not need a narrow late-game sequence or an outlier free-throw parade. It won with shot quality, ball movement, turnover control and a clear perimeter advantage.
Fenerbahce also held a slight edge in playoff experience entering the matchup, 111 to 97, and played like the more settled team. Bayern’s path back now requires more than improved shot-making. It needs to reduce turnovers, generate more connected offense and find a way to bring Fenerbahce’s 3-point volume under control.
Through two games, the series has a clear shape. Fenerbahce has the superior efficiency profile, the stronger CPI standing and now the scoreboard advantage to match. Game 2 did not just confirm the favorite. It widened the gap.
